YNH Services received a Learn Local Legend Award at the 2013 Victorian Learn Local Awards dinner held at St Kilda Town Hall on August 29.
The Legend Awards presented by Minister for Higher Education and Skills Peter Hall acknowledged eight Learn Local organisations across the state for their contribution to the sector in innovation, best practice and leadership.
YNH was recognised as a leading regional provider of training using innovative e-learning technologies to deliver training nationally using their blended delivery model.
There are more than 300 Learn Local organisations across the state making a significant contribution to the vocational training system.
Learn Local organisations deliver programs designed to be flexible to meet learners’ needs and support them to return to study, improve their literacy and numeracy skills, gain a qualification, broaden their employment options and learn new skills.
The Victorian Learn Local Awards provide the Adult, Community and Further Education (ACFE) Board with an opportunity to showcase the remarkable achievements of the Learn Local sector and pay tribute to the inspirational efforts of learners, practitioners and organisations from across the state.
The Legend Awards were nominated by the eight ACFE Regional Councils. In making their choices they’ve considered performance in training delivery, dedication to improvement of staff and services, connection with the community and contribution to the sector.
Heather Kelly, Executive Officer YNH Services, said the Legend Award validates the hard work and vision of all those associated with YNH – past and present committee, volunteer and staff.
“YNH was recognised as the Outstanding ACE Organisations in 2010 –this new award demonstrates our commitment to continue to build on our delivery and meet local training needs.
