Community activities

Technology Playgroup

Practice and improve your computer / smartphone / tablet skills, try out new skills, sort out minor difficulties, gain confidence and experience. Bring your own equipment (some laptops will be available).

This is not a structured class—it is a group where participants learn from each other, with volunteer IT support on hand to give advice and assistance.

Date: Wednesdays

Friday Open Door

Feeling lonely or bored? Come for an hour or the whole day. Have a cuppa and a chat, make a little artwork or just socialise and make new friends.

Activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Pottery/Ceramic Jewellery
  • Papercraft including card-making and creative art using recycled teabags
  • Rag bags using scraps of material
  • Gardening

Learn a new skill or share one of your own. Bring your own supplies, or see what we have here.

Ceramics

Ceramics For Beginners

Learn basic hand building skills when working with raw clay – add a little imagination to create your own pinch pots, coffee mugs or jewellery. Skills you will learn include: molding, decorating, using slip and underglazes, glazing and firing, slip casting. Mold making will also be offered.

For experienced potters

A friendly atmosphere in which to make new friends while enjoying the craft you love. You may even want to share some of your own skills.

Materials and tools will be supplied where available. BYO ideas, photos or items that you wish to reproduce.

Date: Wednesdays from 3rd February (excluding school holidays)
Time: 5:00pm – 8:00pm

’Ave a Chat Crafters

Do you enjoy patchwork, quilting, knitting, sewing or any other form of craft? With meetings twice a week, you can work on your project, share your ideas and knowledge, and just have fun with other craft minded people.

Card & Games Social Group

If you enjoy board games or card games, have a favourite you’d like to share, then this group is for you.

Bring a friend or come on your own, and have fun with friendly, like minded people. Come once, or every week, the choice is yours.
